The nursery is provided during both Worship Services and the Sunday School hour. The nursery is staffed with Safe Sanctuary certified volunteers who have passed background checks. There is a separated area for crawlers.
The children's programming runs during the adult Sunday School time, as well. Our God's Workshop building houses children 2-18. Currently, our elementary children enjoy a rotational Sunday School model. They learn about the same Bible story for about six weeks, but through a different method each time: cooking, games, science, or other activities. The fifth and sixth grades attend the Bridge class with lessons that help transition them to Youth.
Zion Youth ministries aren't fast or flashy, but we're serious about developing students.
Zion Youth meet regularly on Sunday Mornings from 9:15 - 10:15 AM, between our two services, in the Lower Level of God's Workshop. Snacks are available, and they have a lesson in a casual atmosphere.
Zion Youth meet on Wednesday Nights from 6:30 - 8:00 PM, in the Lower Level of God's Workshop during the school year. The evening begins with snacks, games, and chatting. We progress into a lesson and discussion, and usually end with time for free time for games of choosing.
The Youth also aim for at least one social and one mission activity each month. These are posted in our newsletter and calendar.
Zion's adults take discipleship seriously with seven different adult classes that meet each Sunday morning in the Disciple Center. Topics vary from Biblical to situational based themes. Sometimes we do studies as a whole church, or of each classes' choosing.
Helping people in need is important to our church! The Serve Committee has sponsored The Great Gordonville Giveaway to help meet the needs of our surrounding communities.
Zion's Serve Team has been diligently working to put together a list of Zion members who are willing to donate their time to help members and neighbors. If you are in need of any of these listed services, call the church office at 573-243-8025 and we will try to put you in contact with a volunteer.
